After doing the SEO for this website, the rankings constantly improved thanks to the old optimizations alone. No other changes were made or additional backlinks received for the past two years!
Recently, the website started to rank for a few keywords above websites like Carrefour or Auchan, one of the country’s biggest retailers. Carrefour, for example, has a yearly turnover of $2.2 billion, while Auchan has an annual turnover of $1.4. The budgets invested in SEO for the small website are incomparable to those of these big websites.
Below, you can see the search results overview from Ahrefs. The backlinks of a website are a significant ranking factor, and Ahrefs calculates the quality and quantity of these backlinks with their Domain Rating (DR). In this case, Simplisio.ro has a DR8 and still ranks above the DR67, DR50, DR59, and DR40 websites.

This kind of result is surprising even for the best SEO Specialists, especially considering that this is an ecommerce website. For this keyword, all websites have a similar product, targeting the same keyword.
What is the reason for this success? In this case, I understood the search intent very well. I implemented the on-page part perfectly by focusing on the customer instead of optimizing the page for the search engines. This is also what Google recommends, and they had a lot of recent algorithms targeting this.
